The second game of the day for Coast FA against another Patriots club team - The Revolution. With memories of the previous game day in Florence earlier in the season, Coast FA had some concerns with tiredness after a strenuous first game. Coast FA opened the scoring with a howler of a strike from JT Cuomo, that crashed the underside of the crossbar from outside the box on the left side. The Revolution soon came back with their response. After some confusion in the Coast FA defense and a poor clearance, the Revolution striker pounced to deliver the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the Coast FA goal. The game was tough and phyiscal and both teams were battling away at each other. A number of bumps, bruises and blood would be evidence of such. Midway into the first half Coast FA broke down the right side and drove a cross in front of the Revolution's goal. The keeper got to it first, but couldn't hold on as Robert Wylie pounced on the rebound to poke the ball in. Just before the end of the first half, Covington Watson was well positioned to pick up a loose ball from a goal kick, dribble past the last defender and slide the ball home. During the second half Coast FA imposed more pressure on the Revolution goal. Some great wing play and a perfect cross found Mende open at the far post for a tap-in. The Patriots keeper made some fine saves, two point blank saves one of which led to a bloody nose. The Revolution responded with three shots on goal, but Asllanaj dealt with them well. JT Cuomo re- entered in the second half. In usual style he drove the ball to the goal on a number of times and in a determined fashion he beat the keeper to the ball on two separate occasions to complete his hat-trick. In a post-game chat with reporters, Coach Robinson praised the Revolution for their hard-work. "they did not give up" As for his own team, he was delighted with the whole day. "we performed well on both occasions - it was a good days work. The players should be proud of themselves today. I was especially happy to see JT get a hat-trick. He is a strong kid and has managed things tremendously well for a boy of his age - and what a great first goal - top shelf! I was also happy to see Alex Mende grab a goal - he gets a lot of hassle from me because he tends to switch off. He was plugged in and ready to go today though. Lastly, I have mention Nick Gatch - blisters aside, he began to show some confidence in the second game. He won tackles and head balls and was not afraid to get forward. He has tremendous speed and with tighter foot skills, he will become a big threat to teams in the future.
